Reading Ranen
November 1, 2009We have been blown away by Ranen’s reading. My dad was trying to give me some credit but sadly, I can’t take any. All credit goes to Starfall and 100 Easy Lessons (and Ranen of course).
In this video, we had just gotten this book from the library and it was his first time reading it.
Because of his reading, I was curious as to his reading level. It is a little hard to assess because Ranen is only 4 1/2 years old but someone suggest this assessment. Ranen got 33 words which puts him at a 6.11 reading age. When asked his favorite subject or part of his lessons, he will say “reading”. So we are feeding this and hope this desire continues for a lifetime.

I just gave Jack this test (though, I did it wrong…I stopped after 10 wrong words in all, not consecutively) anyway, he got 70 words which is at age 10.2! :O I was shocked actually. Anyway, thanks for that link and WAY TO GO RANEN!!!! Keep up the good work!
